Celebrating the talent of tomorrow

To kick off, we will toast the achievements of our class of 2023 at a drinks reception, followed by a welcome from PPA CEO, Sajeeda Merali, before an inspiring talk and insightful Q&A from our guest speakers. Following the all-important trophy presentation, we will top off the night with more food and drink whilst catching up with industry colleagues and Next Gen alumni.


Guest speakers

We are very excited to announce that we’ll be hearing on the night from two major-league industry figures about their own career paths, first-hand advice, and mistakes they’ve made so you don’t have to. From commercial to CEO with Harmsworth Media’s Nina Wright, and an exclusive Q&A with WIRED Editor-in-Chief, Greg Williams.

Nina Wright

Chair, Harmsworth Media

Nina completed a BSC (Hons) Psychology Degree in Liverpool before undertaking a career in the media industry over 25 years ago. Nina joined New Scientist Media Company as CEO in October 2018 and was part of the brokerage team that completed the transaction to DMGT in 2021. Today Nina is the Chair of Harmsworth Media, a DMGT company that includes New Scientist and i national newspaper.

Nina’s experience spans consumer and B2B media and events, she is renowned for creating innovative strategies for businesses that deliver accelerated growth, both from existing products and new digital product development. Nina is a highly regarded media professional with institutional knowledge and experience in subscriptions.

Nina is also the Chair of FIDO, a revolutionary VC backed AI technology startup that identifies water leakages, she is also an active mentor, and particularly enjoys offering support to aspirational women leaders.

Greg Williams

Editor-in-Chief WIRED UK & Deputy Global Editorial Director, WIRED

Greg Williams is the Editor-in-Chief of WIRED UK and Deputy Global Editorial Director of WIRED. A content creator, speaker and strategic forecaster who has held senior leadership roles in London and New York, Greg is interested in understanding the ideas, organisations, trends and technologies shaping the future. He has interviewed senior leaders in business, technology and policy, including Bill Gates, Satya Nadella, Demis Hassabis and former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair.

Greg has written for titles including The Guardian and Newsweek and was awarded British Society of Magazine Editors 'Editor of the Year, Science & Technology' in 2017, 2018 and 2020.
